Embedding Online Safety


Looking for ways to weave in online safety messages across your school curriculum? Visiting a topic in different subject areas offers a creative way for pupils to bring their learning to life by making links to the world around them.

To help you do this with online safety, Childnet have created a new resource. One side suggests practical things you can do across your whole school to put online safety firmly in the centre of school life. The other side of the poster suggests 25 creative ways to embed online safety messages across different subject areas.

Be Internet Legends

Parent Zone

Be Internet Legends is a multifaceted programme designed to teach Key Stage 2 pupils (7-11 years old) the skills they need to be safe and confident online. Developed by Google in partnership with the educators and online safety experts at Parent Zone, the FREE curriculum pack and Digital Wellbeing module are full of lesson plans, group activities and materials for teachers.

Education for a Connected World

UK Council for Internet Safety's (UKCIS)

The Education for a Connected World framework describes the Digital knowledge and skills that children and young people should have the opportunity to develop at different ages and stages of their lives. It highlights what a child should know in terms of current online technology, its influence on behaviour and development, and what skills they need to be able to navigate it.
